Position: CDMA Senior Release Manager

(Work Location: Guangzhou)

Band7-8  one

Responsibility:

The Senior Release Manager position is responsible for the upfront planning, and subsequent project management of the various nodal/functional activities required supporting the Design, Product Test, and Customer Validation of CDMA Releases. This position has the authority/accountability to deliver on-schedule, and with Quality. This position leads an extended team of nodal/functional primes (Including Solution partners) to plan, implement, and validate CDMA releases which can typically be > 1M new/changed Source Lines of Code.

·        Clear and concise upward and outward representation of the project through weekly Release Reviews.  Typically provides a synthesized view of schedule progress/risk to the CDMA Development VP on a weekly basis.

·        Leadership relationship with matrixed project personnel to establish objectives and provide feedback, evaluations and career development.  Mentors the more junior Release Managers and/or Nodal Release Managers.

·        Reviews progress on critical issues with project leads, and/or designers and provides guidance.

·        Communicates to IPT regarding status of project deliverables, key issues, actions, and escalations that may be required.

·        Recommends revectoring people and resources to address significant shortfalls.

·        Proactively influences the project decisions at all levels within their Release Management expertise.

·        Fosters work-life balance within the team and boosts team morale.

·        Champions cross-organizational initiatives for the benefit of the broader community.  This includes ongoing improvement in Release Management processes and Mode of Operation.  This will also include roll-out of USDRP process initiatives.

Requirements:

·        Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or Software Engineering, and/or Information Systems, and/or Electrical Engineering, or related field.

·        Strong program management skills including risk identification and mitigation.

·        Strong influencing skills which is extremely important given the cross organizational relationships required to support the CDMA Solution.

·        Significant experience and demonstrated ability of working with people in various scenarios.

·        Able to clearly and articulately communicate verbally and in written form.

·        Able to absorb significant amounts of technical/project info & metrics, synthesize a clear, concise view on how the releases are tracking to schedule, determine risks which need to be mitigated, and forecast accurate activity completion dates which have high integrity.

·        Broad technical experience in the core competency of Release Management/Delivery.  (Needs to have a grasp of technical concepts within their area)

·        Working level knowledge of functional development processes, and how to make them interwork for successful delivery of releases.

·        The successful candidate has a demonstrated ability of working independently, managing successful projects in a collaborative fashion.

·        Candidates with solid CDMA technical & process knowledge are preferred.

 

Position: CDMA Release Management Specialist

(Work Location: Guangzhou)

Band6      one

Responsibility:

This role provides key contribution to CDMA R&D efficiency and effectiveness via TL 9000 registration, process alignment & rationalization, and continuous improvement for workflow architecture and design.  As a vital part of the Process and Quality System team, the successful candidate will collaborate with a cross-functional and global extended team to assemble, manage, and analyze key data points that provide (and continuously improve) release over release, node by node, and phase by phase quality performance measurement, reporting, and prediction modeling throughout the product lifecycles.

This position is required to ensure the success of Nortel's process-related initiatives by supporting:

·           Process and metrics analysis towards improved planning and management.

·           Process assessments, audits, research/benchmarking, collaboration and process alignment towards maximizing effectiveness.

·           Process documentation, knowledge management, change management, automation, and training towards best in class execution.

Requirements:

·           Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics/Engineering, HTML, PC/Windows, MS Office (particularly Excel), Predictive data analysis/modeling (e.g. modeling using Rayleigh curves).

·           Strong ability to manage process and product data and apply statistical tools.

·           Strong ability to analyze product factors (such as size, defects and case reporting) and project management/tracking factors (such as schedule and cost/resources) to determine causality.

·           Strong ability to provide computer-aided analysis towards predictive modeling and proactive improvement actions. 

·           Strong ability to analyze and develop processes to maximize efficiency/effectiveness according to requirements

·           Strong ability to develop and improve process documentation and training in Word/PowerPoint and on the web.

·           To work independently, apply problem solving techniques, and manage time effectively.

·           To plan, schedule, and track work to proactively ensure that critical milestones are met with quality and on time.

·           Good collaborative and interpersonal skills and excellent written and spoken English.

·           Candidates with solid CDMA technical & process knowledge are preferred.
